It's that time of year....

When my fellas hit the road for their annual "all boys" fishing trip! This is year 3 and they are as excited as ever! They are going to fish all morning, drink "blue soda" with every meal (blue soda, as in Pepsi) and stay up throwing sticks in the campfire.
What am I going to do for my 3rd annual "mom's only week"....the real question should be what am I NOT going to do! LOL

I've got lunch plans, dinner out and tons of shopping to do! I'm doing all the things I can't do with boys! They don't enjoy shopping like I enjoy shopping! :)
Happy Father's day to my dad, who by far is the best pop around!! And to my husband, who is really giving my daddy a run for his money! LOL I'm blessed with 2 great guys in my life, and 2 mini fellas that will someday be daddies themselves. Luckily they have some awesome roll models!

Bball season has come to an end...

Yes, basketball season has come to an end for Mr. T. He played on the Warriors in the Pee Wee league this year and loved it!! He started out a little timid and a "little stand off-ish" according to his coach, but has come full circle and really got out there and played the game. He made new friends, learned the rules of the game, and just had a great time. His team came in 3rd place in the division, and he was so excited to add another trophy to his collection! :)

All good things must come to an end...but have no fear...baseball (for both boys) started today! :)

**note...this picture was taken at 7am on a Saturday morning, and the poor little fella was so sick, but he didn't want to miss out on picture day. Can't you see the sad little eyes?! My poor little guy**

Sporty Spice....

I love being the mom to boys, it's so fun and really...never a dull moment. Seriously, I am always on the run! Mr. T is involved in everything possible, I break out in a cold sweat when he comes running out of his classroom with a brightly colored flier in his hand and a smile from ear to ear. Because I know, I know exactly what he's going to tell me...there's another sport/activity/or thingy to volunteer for. Which means, we'll be living in my car!! Now, don't get me wrong, I love that he is so passionate about sports, and his activities, but every now and again, I do love a day of nothing too!! ;)

On one particular "day of nothing" the boys decided to draw, the pulled out the little Rubbermaid tote of pens, colored pencils and crayons. They had a huge stack of paper, and got down to business. They laughed, they shared ideas, and Mr. T even helped Big J spell a few big words! It was super cute! Guess what they drew....oh, you know it! FOOTBALL! Yup, if they can't go outside and play it, or watch it on TV, they'll draw about it! hee hee! Check out my little guys' artwork! (Big J's is on the top, and Mr. T's is of course, on the bottom!!) They just melt my heart! (notice the backwards S on the Steelers? Hee hee! So sweet)

Holy smokes....

Okay, so I'm a slacker! I really really am! Well, you have to admit, admitting you have a problem is the first step...right? That's what "they" say, anyway! I can't believe that I was last here in the summer! Scary how fast time flies! Well, a recap of what has happened since!

Mr. T started 1st grade, Big J is officially in his last year of preschool (whoooh!), our summer was great! Ended with a good sized family reunion at our casa, and it was so fun to see everyone! The boys love their grown up cousins (yup, that's all they have, the grown up kind!) In October, Big J turned 5, with a party fit for a pirate! Arrrrgh! November came and went, I got a holiday job at Macy's and although I missed everyone's fun Christmas parties, I had so much fun! (the discount was the best!) Our holidays were great, Papa T and I ran in the New Year and celebrated 12 years of wedded bliss! :) In January, I started teaching in Big J's class in the mornings, covering the director's maternity leave. It's so fun, and I'm enjoying the kids so much! Feb has been busy and now we're on to March. Macy's called me back...yeah, but I can't swing it all so I'm going to have to gently turn them down. (I want an opportunity to work there at a later date, just not right now). Mr. T and Papa T will be celebrating some birthdays this month, and boy...I'm tired thinking about all we have going on in March! Tiger Cubs, T-ball, baseball, and lots and lots of family fun of course! :)

Summer is closing in on us

Seriously, summer is slowly coming to an end! Oh where, oh where did our summer time go? I'm sad to see it come to an end, but somewhat excited that we'll be starting back to our regular schedule. Mr. T will be starting 1st grade, and Big J is off to another year of Pre-K (much to his dismay). Both boys will be playing soccer starting in the next few weeks, and I'll be working at the preschool not one but 2 days a week! Eeeeek! I'm already working on my lesson plans so I can have things together when times get busy with the boys and their homework and activites.

With that said, our last week of summer is going to be a blast! I asked the boys what they'd like to do to fill in the time next week. Both shouted out "ZOO!!! We wanna go to the ZOO!!" So sometime next week we'll be heading out to the Oakland Zoo. My favorite place as a child, and we always have fun there! Maybe daddy can take his lunch break and hang out with us for a little bit.

Big J also mentioned he'd love to go to Ikea next week. Seriously, this kids 2 favorite places are Macy's and Ikea! (I think he likes the meatballs most of all!) So of course I'll give in (I secretly love the meatballs too) and make the drive to the Sacramento Ikea!!

We plan to make our last week of summer a good one, as I'm sure you all are too!!

Thankful Thursday

...I think today is the perfect day to stop and think about all I have to be thankful for.

I'm thankful for a wonderful husband who works hard so that we can live the life that we have. I'm thankful for a beautiful house to raise our children in. I'm so thankful for 2 healthy, but sometimes sassy little boys. They are the reason I wake up every morning (otherwise my kitchen would be a disaster if I didn't)

I'm thankful for my mom, who no matter what is going on in her day will stop and listen to me vent, then give it to me for venting over the small day to day stuff. I'm thankful for a cool dad, who I miss too much and his wonderful wife who I know takes excellent care of him. Darn, they live too stinking far away!! :-( I'm thankful for my grandma (and those of you who have heard the stories, I'm sure are scratching their heads right about now)....no matter all the craziness, drama and restraining orders she has put upon me, I'm still thankful for her hugs and crazy stories.

I'm thankful for the country I live in, for all the opportunities available and our freedom. I'm thankful for a long weekend to celebrate Independents day with friends and family, swimming and eating all day long.

I'm thankful for all the wonderful things I have to be thankful for (did that make sense)
